2 Essential Steps for Healthy Colored Hair

Ever since I went blonde a few months ago, I’ve gotten a lot of questions about how I managed to keep my hair healthy and strong despite all of the bleaching. So after my most recent root touch-up, I decided to narrow down exactly which products I’ve been using to maintain my now blonde hair that keep it as moisturized, vibrant, and bouncy as possible.

It breaks down to two steps: Deep condition and dry shampoo like it’s going out of style!

I love to deep condition using coconut oil 2-3 times a month. On 3rd or 4th day hair, I’ll brush thoroughly and add a GENEROUS amount of coconut oil. I evenly distribute the oil from root to tip and gently massage it into my scalp. Then, I put my hair up in a top knot and go to sleep. The next morning, I shampoo twice, condition with my regular conditioner, and style as usual. The result is immediately evident–more moisture, more shine–but the real results take time. I’ve noticed a big difference from doing this consistently, so make it a part of your pamper night routines a few times a month!ab

I also LOVE this hair mask from Revivogen Pro. The antioxidant-rich conditioner is perfect for weekly use because it adds a ton of moisture and shine to my hair without weighing it down. Because the formula is made for fine or thinning hair, it’s incredibly lightweight but still delivers an impressive amount of hydration and vibrance to my always-thirsty locks.

The second big thing to consider is how often you’re washing your hair. Washing too frequently really does dry it out and since dry shampoo is everywhere these days, there’s no need to put your already tired strands though that. Instead, find a dry shampoo that works for you and use it in between washes. The result is fresh looking, oil-free hair, that has a ton of volume!
