IMG_5345After the holidays, my family and I usually bum around the house for a few days. It’s one of the rare occasions when I have a legitimate excuse to sleep in late, make big breakfasts, watch movies all afternoon in pajamas, and finally decompress after what always seems to be the busiest month of the year.

After a day or two though, we tend to get a little stir crazy (one can only Netflix + chill for so long, am I right?) and typically venture out into the world for one last shopping excursion of the year. This usually involves a thirty minute drive to the next town over and strolling around the shops and cafes for a long, lazy afternoon.

Since, the previous few days were spent in my new Christmas pajamas, I was actually pretty excited to put together a cute outfit and a bright, but minimal makeup look. I paired my favorite new skirt from Romwe with more-summer appropriate pieces like this turtleneck crop top (sartorial oxymoron??) black strappy sandals, and my very-well loved City Slicker backpack from JustFab.

I’ve been loving the color Classic Red by Colour Prevails recently. It’s what I’ve been calling “Taylor Swift red” because it’s not too blue and not too yellow, it’s just red. Classic red, like Taylor always wears. It’s creamy, pigmented, long lasting, and comfortable on the lips so it’s perfect for chill days like this where you want to look put together but not like you’re trying too hard.

IMG_5340After a long dinner, we returned home where the Christmas pajamas were promptly put back on, movies were rented, and leftover Christmas cookies were finished off. It was the perfect way to spend my last day in Florida before returning LA.

How did you spend the last few days of 2015? Let me know in the comments!

Hope you’re all having a wonderful start to the New Year! Looking forward to writing a lot more blog posts in 2016, I hope you enjoy!
