In addition to being a YouTuber and lifestyle blogger, I am a freelance writer. And since last month saw quite a few new writing assignments–with topics ranging from a new show on Bravo to a post about SPF for National Sunscreen Day–I thought I’d fill you guys in on everything I’ve been working on.
First up, Cinco de Mayo (AKA one of my favorite holidays of EVER because it’s typically celebrated with my three favorite food groups: chips, gauc, and tequila.) I wanted to do something a little different, so I came up with two twists on the classic margarita for StyleHaul’s blog. The recipes were inspired by a few of my favorite cocktails in NYC and after fiddling around a bit to figure out the perfect combinations, I can officially say these are my new go-tos for summer.

Then I created an easy way to create a beautiful (and inexpensive) way to show Mom you love and appreciate her for Mother’s Day. The trick is to pick three varieties of flowers in complementary colors.

Now that it’s summer, this rustic bouquet would look beautiful with a single sunflower in the center, instead of the large white flower used in this post. (Is it weird that I’m already looking forward to recreating this bouquet with warm red and yellow colored flowers for Fall??)
May 27th was National Sunscreen Day, and being a Florida native I thought I would be able to write this piece in my sleep, but after doing a bit of research I found that there was actually quite a bit I didn’t know about SPF. Most importantly, that the SPF you see on the label is not always accurate.

And most recently, I wrote an article for the New York Observer about Bravo’s new scripted comedy Odd Mom Out. If you happened to see the first Vlogmas video I did last December, you may know that I was lucky enough to visit the set and interview the cast. Fast forward to last week, the hilariously funny show premiered in New York and featured a back to back screening of the first two episodes.
Jill Kargman, the show’s creator and star, on the red carpet.
Interviewing SNL’s Abby Elliot who plays Brooke on the show. (We use the voice memos on our phones to record interviews. What did people do before iPhones? lol)

Christmas in…June? lol Here’s the Vlogmas episode I mentioned above:
