My mom loves to tell a story about a time when I was 3 years old and desperately wanted blue eyes. If I remember correctly–and I should because I’ve heard this story many times–we were driving back from Disney World and I cried the entire way home.
But not because we were leaving the Happiest Place on Earth–I was sobbing hysterically because I had brown eyes. Still confused?
Apparently, three year old me as convinced that brown eyes simply would not do. I wanted blue eyes. “I want blue eyes” I allegedly wailed for the hours-long drive home. “I don’t want brown eyes!!!!” <—Why she didn’t leave me on the side of the road, I will never know.
Since then, I have come to like my eye color–a personal triumph of sorts–and have discovered ways to use makeup to enhance my brown eyes.
No matter what eye color you have, certain eyeshadows and makeup techniques can give your (already beautiful) eyes an added boost. This lash ombre technique is one of my new favorite ways to add a subtle sparkle to my eyes without being too over the top.

This foundation/powder combo has been my favorite lately! It’s full coverage but doesn’t feel heavy on my skin and I think it creates a really nice, even complexion.
