There are many ways to celebrate the Oscars but perhaps the most creative is to dress like your favorite character in a nominated film.
This Gone Girl inspired look is a two parter: an effortlessly chic daytime look, and a fierce but playful evening ensemble. To pull off Amy’s simple but polished daytime look, pair a thin sweater with fitted, stretchy jeans. Add dainty earrings and a statement ring to pull the look together and ensure that it’s not too casual.

The last 8 months have involved a lot of firsts for me, not the least of which is the fact this is my first official winter! Being that my native land is the Sunshine State, last November was the first time I saw snow- like, ever.
At the show, the models wore very little face makeup. Instead, the makeup artist applied a thick layer of Erno Laszio’s Phormula 3-9 Repair Cream to the entire face for a fresh, girl-next-door inspired look.
I remember being surprised that such a thick moisturizer absorbed so well, despite the fact that it was still a million degrees in September. All of the models looked dewy but not greasy. So much so that it was hard not to stare at their faces! (she said without sounding creepy at all…)
I’ve been so homesick for LA lately! It’s freezing in New York and as much as I love it here, my friends, the SUNSHINE, and my favorite donuts are all on the other side of the country and it’s weighing on my soul (dramatic sigh lol)
Luckily, my best friend is having an engagement party in a few weeks which means California is in my future, if only for a few days. Because of this, I’ve spent a lot of my free time **cough, lying wide awake in bed at night** fantasizing about my trip and of course, what I will wear. No heavy coat! No wool mittens! OPEN-TOED SHOES?!?!?! Be still my heart.
