Beat the Heat Summer Fashion

My boyfriend and I recently went on vacation to New England and were met by beautiful Colonial style beach houses, out of this world lobster rolls, and…a heat wave. Which, actually, wasn’t horrible because being an East Coast girl myself, I anticipated (at the very least) humidity and packed very light layers. Below are three outfits I wore on vacation that allowed me to be comfortable and stylish despite off the chart temperatures.

Classic summer ~ Striped cotton tee, comfy denim cut offs, and the ever-classic aviators. Pair with a chunky watch and some cute flip flops. Easy, breezy, cool.

Statement Tribal ~ Summer style should be effortless, a sundress and sandals and you’re good to go. I really like that this dress can be worn in a variety of ways (with a skinny belt and cage sandals, black pumps and a cute evening clutch or as a bikini cover up). I also love the way the black and white adds a classic touch to the cool, tribal print.

Captivating Coral ~ Coral is my favorite summer color. Lipstick, nail polish, clothes, accessories….you name it, I want it in coral. I think it looks good on pretty much everyone and is the perfect compliment to a suntan. This dress from Target is not only my favorite color but it is also very light and airy, which is perfect for the sometimes sweltering heat of summer. I really like that it’s form fitted at the top but has a bit of elastic in the back so it’s not constricting at all. Pair this dress with some really girly accessories like a matching flower ring and some pretty sandals and you have the perfect summer date look.
